Sunday December 6th, Kingdom Hall and Boat Boarding

Goodmorning,

Sunday was an exciting day. Started with a shower, in an Australian shower. That was interesting, the bathroom floor was all common with shower and rest of bathroom. That was odd. Check out the pictures.

From there we caught a taxi to the local kingdom hall. We attended the Bondi Kingdom Hall. We met friends from all over. Some locals, a brother from Brazil that was visiting, and another sister from Hawaii. There was one sister who's name was Yota (she said she gets a lot of grief from the star wars movies, lol) We all even got to answer at the meeting. It was amazing how the meeting format follows ours back home, you can really sense the unity. The Kingdom Hall was also sharp looking, blending in with all the local architecture. The sister from Hawaii and a brother named Stephan brought us back to our hotel.

At that point we got our luggage and walked to our boat and boarded. Amazing how much food is on the boat. At about 5 we undocked and left for sea. We got a ton of pictures leaving the port, too many to upload. The internet is expensive and not very quick so I will upload the pictures I can, and their quality won't be as good.

Today we will be at sea, so we won't do too much exciting today, but tomorrow we dock in Melbourne, Australia. We should have some more exciting pictures tomorow.

Until next time!

Dan

  2. Dan listen to your sister you must try zorbing. My friends Liz and Tyese did it and said it was awesome. If you think the rolling will make you sick you might consider aqua zorbing which is zorbing while you just float in a big puddle of water. Def get pics of that. .=)

  3. Box Jellyfish- One of the more deadly animals on the face of the Earth, also called "Sea Wasp". The jelly-fish has a square body, and lives in Northern and North-Eastern Australia. It can be found near the coast along all the Great Barrier Reef which extends as far as 2000 Km. The toxin present on the tentacles (which may reach several feet in length) is so strong, that the few survivors from an encounter with a box jellyfish describe it more as an electrical shock than a burn. After contact, the person will probably leave the water screaming and will faint on the sand with marks on the body that look like streaks. Depending on the area affected, Cardio-Respiratory functions may stop in just 3 minutes, and mouth to mouth resuscitation and first aid procedures are essential to keep the victim alive. It's essential that you stay with the victim, and send someone to phone for or get an ambulance. Vinegar and peeing on the spot may reduce the pain a little bit, but medical assistance is vital to save the victim. The box jellyfish is responsible for more deaths in Australia than snakes, sharks, and salt water crocodiles put together.
